Club history

Founded in June 2025, Love of Lacey FC was created by Ray and Jodie in honour of Lacey and to continue the incredible work of the original Love of Lacey charity team. After building an unbeaten legacy through charity football, the decision was made to take the next step and establish a club that could compete in league football while continuing to support friendships, strengthen the local community, and raise awareness of Lacey’s name and Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The club’s inaugural 2025/26 season exceeded expectations, finishing runners-up in the Tameside League Division Five and lifting the Division Five League Cup. As the club continues to grow, the 2026/27 season sees the launch of a Veterans team, expanding the Love of Lacey family even further. This is only the beginning.

Club values

Love of Lacey FC is built on more than football. We are a club founded on legacy, togetherness and an unbreakable family spirit, where every player, volunteer and supporter has a place. We compete to win every match, but never at the expense of our values. Respect for one another, our opponents, officials and the game itself will always come first. We believe football should bring people together. We promote kindness, inclusion, ambition, teamwork and personal development both on and off the pitch, creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported. Every player should leave training or matchday feeling proud, valued, accomplished and, above all, part of the Love of Lacey family. We have zero tolerance for discrimination, bullying, violence, abuse, disrespect or any behaviour that brings the club into disrepute. Together, we protect the culture that makes Love of Lacey FC what it is.

Ground & training

Love of Lacey FC is proud to call Hyde High School home, with our First Team competing on the school's modern 4G synthetic pitch. Located on Old Road, Hyde, SK14 4SP, our facilities provide an excellent environment for competitive football, player development and bringing the local community together. After the final whistle, players, supporters and visitors are always welcome at our home pub, The Lodge, where the club comes together to celebrate, reflect and strengthen the friendships that make Love of Lacey FC so special. As the club continues to grow, our Veterans Team proudly plays its home fixtures at St Thomas More RC College, giving both sides dedicated venues to represent the Love of Lacey badge with pride. Wherever we play, our goal remains the same: to create a welcoming, respectful and family-focused environment where players, volunteers and supporters can enjoy football while continuing to build Lacey's legacy.

Safeguarding

Love of Lacey FC is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for every player, volunteer and supporter. Equality & inclusion

Love of Lacey FC is committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity, fairness and respect.
